Chairman of the Interim Election Council (IEC) Khil Raj Regmi has directed Tribhuvan University (TU) to revoke the controversial appointment of Dr Sashi Sharma as Dean of Institute of Medicine (IoM).
The direction has come amid intense pressure on the government to address the demands of Prof Dr Govinda KC whose condition has worsened to a great extent after more than eleven days in hunger strike demanding cancellation of Dr Sharma's appointment as Dean and end to political interference in the medical sector.
In a letter to TU vice chancellor Hira Bahadur Maharjan today, IEC chair Regmi said that Dr Sharma’s appointment as Dean of IoM should be rendered null and void keeping in view the deteriorating health condition of Dr KC. Nepalnews.com
